The item does what it says on the packet, however I feel it would be easy to make this much better due to a few design faults. Why? Well the screw thread to attach the holder onto the mike stand is tapped into mild steel of a lot less than the diameter of the thread. The bracket it is tapped through is more than adequate for the job of holding up the tablet, but too thin (around 3 or 4mm) for the more than ocasional use of the screw. A nut welded to the hole would improve this situation enormously, and a mod I am sure I will have to make before relying on this item for gigging. The thread for holding the actual adjustable holder is quite a large diameter, around 15mm so no worries there, although the actual thread is quite fine. Be carefull if you need to reattach it as it will be easy to cross thread it. The rotation of the holder for vertical/horizontal is a friction affair, and I can see a nut hidden away. Once it goes slack I will need to do a partial dismantle to be able to access this, and I hope the head of the screw is captive as the decorative cover over it seems well attached. The tablet needs to be firmly attached to ensure it does not drop out if you turn the orientation to horizontal. SO make sure you clamp it in tight. Overall I feel that a few minor changes could improve this item enormously. I have given four stars for handling and stability, this is a bit of a guess. Out of the box this is great. After a few weeks of use I am pretty certain it is going to be a bit tricky. As many of us use our tablets for more than just displaying music/lyrics these days the wear and tear is going to impact on the stand quite quickly. I am going to use this until I find something better.
