Boomers strings 009
jolter 24.03.2022
Good price for decent strings. At least freshly changed set is nicely balanced and smooth to play. Haven't yet used for a long, so can't tell about lifespan for those.
For the price it is even no problem to replace those strings 3-4 times insted of "normal" priced longer lasting ones! By the end of the day it all ends to personal preference though.

8's!
Bob @ Piedmont Guitars 09.06.2018
I was surprised at the longevity and sound quality of these strings. I expected a volume loss with such a thin string. It did not happen.
Many of the world's greatest guitars used 8's. I play blues, and I have arthritis creeping into my hands. Bending notes is getting harder each year. I decided to try using a lighter gauge string to see if it helped. While I got great results, I was worried they would wear out faster. They did not. In fact they are the longest lasting strings I have found so far. I have switched all of my guitars to 8's, and GHS Boomers have become the standard string for all of my builds, unless a customer asks for something else. If you have never tried Boomers, give them a shot. They are easy on your frets too!

A Great Value
dandelo 22.05.2014
Been using GHS GBXL Boomers for years. I switched to these many years ago after taking in a guitar to the store I purchased it from to have the action professionally set up. After getting my guitar back and playing it at home for awhile, I went back to the store to ask what strings the tech had installed because I really liked them. GHS Boomers .009-.042. In trying out two other gauges of GHS Boomers since, I find Boomers to be the best value for the money. My personal preference in gauge is .009-.042. Provided I wipe my GBXL's down with a bandana after each session, they retain flexibility and quality of tone for a good long time. As a comparison with at least one other brand, . While the initial tone and ring was superb, they didn't last anywhere near as long as GHS Boomers.

Classic & reliable
Heaventeo 01.01.2019
Classic tone and reliable strings that don't brake easily when you use an ORIGINAL floyd rose tremolo.I rely on them for lives, no problems at all.
Also this set works very well with stainless steel frets.

My strings of choice
Anonymous 20.09.2016
These have been my strings of choice for some years now.

All of my guitars are practically 25.5" and these strings go on any that are tuned standard.

They feel light, but they have just enough firmness when doing bends to stop you where you should stop. I find them very easy to play.

I've went through a lot of guitar strings from multiple manufacturers, but these strings tuned to standard on a pretty standard guitar are were I feel most at home at.

I do go through them faster than I'd like to, but the feel and the sound more than make up for that. You can't have 'em all, but for me, the feel is the most important thing, followed sound; and these feel and sound great!

Great strings, I used to use Ernie Balls but I find I'm using these more now, all GHS range in fact, they last and there are so many to choose from for different applications. These are just great quality that sound great on my strat. Recommend them. Great service as always from Thoman.

My favorite by now
Sascha861 22.02.2014
I've been playing guitar for about 1.5 years now and am the kind of person that always has to try everything out. These strings have proven to be cheap and yet last very long. Other brands either felt bad out of the box (feeling "sticky" or rough) or starting rusting within a few days. These I can play 2-3 weeks at a time before they start showing minimum amounts of wear.

I am always betwwen daddario and ghs
Miltos Xp 06.04.2021
I like them.
I also like daddario.
Which one do i choose? Well, It depends on the mood and the price.

Note that they feel more soft due to the fact that they are roundcore but do not expect a big difference compared to the hexcore.
