If you're recording drums/bands or anywhere with cymbal stands around. Get these. At least one.
I bought this some time ago, but recently needed it in a rehearsal room for test recording.
I knew there was a spare cymbal stand on location, so that saved me transporting an extra mic stand.
By just screwing this on.
I couldn't test the shock absorbing claim because I used a clean cymbal stand just for the
mic.
I don't see the use for that, since normal mic. stands don't have any shock mounts either.
This one is for 8mm cymbal stands.
I always have some 6mm to 8mm adaptors around for that ed, unexpected occasion when I have to work with 6mm threads.

Incredibly useful!
Ivan O.C 01.02.2015
This has been a great addition to my setup. I often had issues with having too many microphone stands on the stage at the one time around the drum kit. They always take a bump now and then or fall due to a clumbsy step across them or against them on stage. I ordered two of these as I had some old boom arm clamps which I wasn't using anymore in my hardware case. I put these on the ends of them and was able to mount two overhead microphones for close micing of the hihats and ride cymbal for most of the venues we play. It's a simple product, cheap too! Setup time is quicker, I don't need to carry two bulky microphone stands with me to gigs and I've saved some handy floor space up for myself and others. Highly recommended purchase!

Gibraltar SC-GMCMA Shock Mic Mount
Robert814 31.01.2014
This is a totally new idea/concept to me: mounting a microphone on a cymbal stand! Saving the space and hassle of setting up one more mic stand seems good, but surely there will be some spill over! I don't even intend to try it on a Hi-Hat stand (with rod and chain sliding around inside), but on a straight or boom stand to reach the underside of the ride or Hi-Hat. I may try a Beyer TG153c with excellent top response, but this has no HPF, so may pick up unwanted low vibration. An AKG C2000 in the elastic cradle and with low cut switched in should prevent this, but it's a big mic.

These work ok, they're work loose quite easily though on both ends, also by then trying to remedy this I have managed to break too of them by the rubber mount coming apart.
In fairness I've been using it for mounting a tablet holder, so not entirely what it was intended for, but still not quite as good as you'd hope.

A great little mic adapter, would recommend to all recording drummers. often you need to adjust the height of a microphone by mm's or less...this is ideal, and also ensures the mic does not lose its position.

Good product

Cheapest option to put a mic on a cymbal stand. And since the cymbal stand boom arms are pretty short (circa 45 cm), it gives just a bit more length.
