Perfect fit but very expensive!

This was a perfect fit for a 70s SG but it's hideously expensive for a small piece of plastic! I guess the Gibson logo on the packaging amounted to 90% of the cost.

I'm sure there are unoriginal parts available somewhere but I couldn't find any and I needed it fast for a restoration job.

If you've got the time to shop around I would recommend searching for something cheaper. If not, this is a good quality product and a perfect fit .

Bought this as a replacement for the truss rod cover on my new Gibson Advanced jumbo Elite, which was a bit cheap & nasty looking with the word Elite stamped on it in a pretty corny script.
The PRTR-010 probably has the most sophisticated vibe of the plain truss rod covers that Gibson manufactures, much classier than the much more expensive Historic spec cover which definitely has its applications and was a perfect upgrade for my J185 TV.
The look of the PRTR-010 is an excellent match for the covers used on the original 1930s Advanced Jumbo which is obviously the look I was after.

A great truss rod cover for both Gibson and Epiphone guitars. Yeah, I know it's a truss rod cover, basically a simple item crafted in plastic, but the craftsmanship is really great, with no imperfections. It also fits perfect on my guitar and improves its look. If you own a Gibson or an Epiphone guitar that lacks an awesome truss rod cover, this is the way to go. Screws are included, so you can put it on guitar as soon as you unpack it.

Got one for my LP tribute when the old one chipped as I was adjusting the trust rod. Seems more solid and had no problem with the quality so far. Also prefer the no inscription, makes your guitar look more vintage lol...

It looks great and it's great quality. However, it's slightly warped. Didn't sit completely flush with the headstock surface. Bit of a bummer. If you pay that price for a little piece of plastic, Gibson could've made it completely flat. Oh well!
