I bought this nut as I was having tuning issues with my GIbson Les Paul. This is a shelf nut that has been crafted to help assist with intonation. From my experience there seems to be little friction caused by the nut as the string sits in the slot which helps with the tuning issues and lifespan of the nut as the string isnt picking up enough friction to carve its way through the nut. The installation of the nut was also fairly easy as it was a perfect fit when I removed the stock Gibson nut. Since installing this nut I have noticed a dramatic increase in tuning accuracy and stability.

Significant compensation

Bought two and installed one on a Les Paul and tuning is noticeably improved.. However installation was demanding as I had to sand down and file a bit to make it fit right. So to avoid errors, I will rather have a luthier install the next one..

Much too high
raymondness 23.07.2024
These are not a drop-in fit on an Epiphone Les Paul. Nut is way too high, and it took hours to file it down to the right heigth. After doing so, it looks terrible. It might improve intonation, but it’s barely audible, and the work you have to put into it is not worth it. Buy a decent bone or tusq nut in stead.
