This pot measures 400kOhm instead of 500kOhm. It may be that these come with a +/- 20% tolerance but still, it's a very marginal pass. I also think the +/-20% tolerance should be mentioned in the product page.

The volume pot with identity issues
AnttiM 03.02.2014
For a while I toyed around with the idea of changing the pickups on my guitar.
After some planning I ended up purchasing Seymour Duncan's SH-2 and TB-6, Gölgo Volume (which I'm currently reviewing here) and Toggle.
I was super excited when the Thomann package arrived.
But that excitement was soon brought down by the poor quality of Göldo parts.
Unfortunately my EL500 volume was built rather hastily and had the ability to go past 0 and all the way to 11. I would have tolerated this "feature" but it appeared on random and wasn't useful in a cool way like for example a bypass or killswitch.

very good for price potentiometer
Anonymous 17.05.2016
This pot , I fitted to replace a Alfa 250k , And the quality seems about the same , there is no movement noise , and the mechanism is nice and slick to use , and the pot it self seems well built .
But not in the league of the CTS type . Note it has an Axis diameter of only 8 mm .

Good action but poor quality control
Anonymous 18.05.2016
I've had many of these Goldo pots and every single one of the 500k models comes in under 500k on the meter, between 440 and 460 is typical and this can cause many humbuckers to be too dark. The action/torque is great but the undercooked resistance values ruin them for me.

Göldo EL500

With pots I am a firm believer in what you pay for is what you get. This pot works fine, but is a bit scratchy as you would expect from cheap import pots. It is also very low-torque to turn which some people like but I prefer the cts style which really take some pressure to get turning.
