Its really a huge chunk of bone you get when it arrives. I had to sand more than half of it away just to fit it in my jazz bass. But the material is great to work with. All in i think it would make a better replacement for a Gibson style nut because its that large. I bet you can craft two 4-String nuts out of this one chunk of bone.

A good nut for Fenders
Anonymous 04.03.2016
Installed this on my Fender Jazz Bass, with a few adjustments the bass played perfectly and there was a slight sound/playing improvement. I would recommend this to anyone doing a build project or for a repair on a bass by Fender/similar

What you see is what you get. Mine wasn't set up quite perfectly but did it's job nonetheless. It find the bridge is less important than the man who puts it on your guitar. Make sure the job is done by a skilled luthier

As with my review of Goldo saddles, these nuts are also of good consistent quality. Less porous than the non-vintage bleached bone, they cut and file reliably. I bought several on this order and will be buying more.
