It functions fairly well as a mute for feedback and unwanted noise, but it really is overpriced.
For practice purposes a clean sock tied to the fretboard has better results without even spending a cent and for stage purposes... A nicer and cleaner sock surely does the same!

The only advantage it has over DIY alternatives is that it makes you look more "professional" if you show up at a gig with one on your guitar.

Helps somewhat

Does what it's meant for, helps damping unwanted string noises, but do not expect wonders. If you put it on your guitar and strum strings without fretting anything you can still hear a lot of semi-muffled strings, especially with high-gain settings. If you want to test it before buying, go ahead and take a long sock and wrap it around your guitar neck across the strings. If you find the result OK, go and buy Fretwrap - it's easier to use and does not smell as bad as your sock.

Better damping could only be achieved by totally different kind of mechanics, with rubbery materials, maybe touching multiple points on string.

Decent but overpriced and slightly pointless

I am afraid I have to agree with some of the other reviews here, in saying that while this is a reasonable product, it is overpriced, and you may actually find better results with a DIY alternative. That said, it is well made, it does look cool, and way more professional than a DIY effort. Also, I have found that it may actually not mute all the strings due to how the cushion part can bend so... really, other than looking good, its a bit of a waste.

Does the job well... but

The price is too steep for a piece of padded fabrick with a velcro strap in my opinion. One could achieve the same result with a sock
The fretwrap's only advantage is that it looks better than old socks.
