Great sound but horrible intonation, completely useless.

I got these stings for my Juan Hernandez Profesor. I've been very happy with the tone I get with Savarez 510AR Alliance/Cantiga on this guitar but I've always found the Cantiga basses a bit fragile. They don't last very long for me so I wanted to try something different with presumably also a bit warmer tone. My only experience with Hannabach in the past (and on a different guitar) was the excellent but expensive 900/200 MHT set. I really liked them but I wanted to try some of the less expensive offerings from Hannabach.
Unfortunately this set was a huge disappointment. I honestly don't understand all the great reviews these strings get. I can only assume the quality control must be RUBBISH and I got a bad set.
The intonation is so far off that the strings are useless. I mean, really, REALLY bad. The tone is great. very full and warm but that's not worth much when they are out of tune on pretty much everywhere except open strings.
Definitely not recommended, a complete waste of money.

The good stuff

Hi - I'm no expert, it's the first time I've bought premium strings for a classical guitar. From what I can tell both from touch/feel and from sound it's really worth twice the price I usually pay, it's a whole different ballgame. I'm happy with my purchase and hope these strings will last long...

Favourite strings so far

I've been using Hannaback 815MT strings for many years. For the price they are good, their sound and quality are great. The only minus is that they are not so clear and bright as I want them to be, but everyting is a compromise. Regarding quality I sense there has been a little drop in quality the last few years, I don't really know why

Classic strings

I used in the past Flamenco Hannabach, i liked them but in my personal opinion this are better. It is a more neutral sound and the tension is perfect for my hands. I always use my spanish for studying and practising technique so this string go through a lot and never had a broken one or any problem.

Very good basic strings

This Hannabach 815MT Black has been used for many years by my son and me. These strings give a good compromise between loudness and easiness to play. They don't have too much tension for quite delicate classisal guitars.
I can recommend for normal use like practising and small performances. If you want "bigger" sounding strings, the tension will be much higher.
