Out of balance, low output
TheMightyAtom 28.09.2018
I normally use La Bella 820-B's on my Alhambra, but these were out of stock, so I thought I'd try these more expensive, higher tension strings. I play all sorts on this guitar, from full chords to finger picking, from David Bowie to actual flamenco.

I replaced the high E and A string, so I would be able to compare with the Bella's that had already seen maybe 300 playing hours.
The first thing I noticed was the high E had less volume than the old La Bella string, and was much thinner in tone. I expected it to be more spanky, and with higher volume.
The wound A string is "OK", but simply doesn't have the tone or complexity of the string it was replacing.
I took them off, went back to the La Bellas and will try to find them in stock somewhere. Overall disappointed. Quality is fine though.

My favorite strings

Since I first used them 5 years ago I only buy these strings. Love the lower strings, you can play really fast with low action flamenco guitars and get an incredible sound. They are also very long lasting and keep the brilliance of the sound after having played for a while.

Beautiful Sound

These are my strings of choice for my nylon string guitars. I come from a steel string background and am not a flamenco player but I love these strings for their high tension and great response. I find they work exceptionally well for gipsy jazz and Rodrigo y Gabriela type lead tones. Lower tension strings can often not accomplish this as they don't pick up on the subtle vibrato sometimes nor do they have the popping attack these strings supply.

The only downsize to these strings is the price. I find them to be quite expensive. Though once you start playing with them for me there was no real going back. They really cut through the mix and make playing nylon string a dream for someone from a non classical or flamenco background. Though I'm sure they'd be more than adequate for both those styles.

Excellent!

I had never heard of this brand before I bought these. I wanted a flamenco sound and these delievered just that...punchy, articulate and durable. I totally recommend these for flamenco, but wanna say they worked just as well for hitting chords with a soft pick.

Incredible Strings!

I'm blown away at how good these strings sound and how quickly they settle.
They even look good too (the G,B & E are copper coloured).
I'll keep buying them as long as Hannabach keep making them.

Best for short scale

I play a short scale Cordoba Cadete and this set of strings complement the guitar perfectly. I highly recommend.

Flamenco sound

They sound very good for Flamenco. If I could add some critics... Yes the 4th is so thin, it never last me more than one month... The rest are okey. I like them but for the 4th I choose other brand...
