Is good to raise your signal but not to EQ
KaTap 17.03.2024
I use the Harley Benton GPA-100 to raise the level of the signal of my guitar. The chain that I currently use is guitar-> modeler -> eq -> amp(Harley Benton GPA 100) -> cabinet.

As a result, it works very good, is not over heat, delivers the signal with no noise, is well built, feels pretty solid, the meters and lights are very clear, can deliver 100w in 8ohms, which is good enough for live situations, and is transportable, you can carry it in a backpack without problems.

At the time I had this equipment, I had 0 problems at this date, after rehearsal, live performance, and recordings. is very reliable.

I think the only defect I had was the EQ section that is included. It sounds so generic that it has no soul (I know it's a budget amp, but if they change that part of this device, like including an EQ section with similar bandwidths to Marshall or Fender, this would definitely be the holy grail for amplify a modeled signal)

If you want to use this as an amp EQ after your modeled tone, you'll end up sounding like generic/cliché... so make sure your tone/shaping is completely ready before using this equipment, or make sure you have enough room in your preset to add an equalizer to the end of your modeled chain instead of using the EQ section of the Harley Benton GPA100.

After that is a really good piece of gear for the price that it cost.

Best 70€ spent!
Valter Aguiar 25.01.2024
For the price this thing rules! It's loud, it takes your digital pres, your analog pedal pres. A working musician's tool! Let's see how long it lasts, I hope I don't have to update my review.

Great value for a great power amp
The.MickMad 13.03.2023
The GPA-100 does one thing and it does it perfectly, it has loads of power to deliver into any cabinet you throw at it, it's compact and fits in a pedalboard!
The three band EQ is ok for some quick sound shaping after your FX chain, pretty useful if you're constantly changing cabinets (e.g. playing in a new venue and you're not bringing your own cab).
The only missing feature is a gain trim control on the input, so if you have low output volume pedals you won't be using the whole power output of the amp; to properly use this, use the highest output volume you can on your last pedal in the chain (or properly gain stage your pedals) so that your signal is hot enough when it arrives to the GPA-100.
Definitely recommended :)

For those running a digital setup with a real cab
Aljaž 20.05.2024
I bought 2 of these for myself and my co-guitarist.

We run digital modellers through real cabinets and these power amps are great for that. They're plenty loud and the added benefit of a simple EQ is a nice feature. They sound transparent without introducing any coloring to the sound.

One of them did however fail after about 1-2 years, but Thomann replaced it without a fuss. The other is still running just fine.

Very clean/clear sounding power amp. Not the most powerful, but for the price you can't go wrong.

Good, once you figure it out
ivanpintar0 17.06.2024
What's to figure out? You need to give it a line level input to be truly loud.
When going from a pedalboard directly, the signal is too low, and it can get loud, but at the very end of the volume knob.
Otherwise, works as advertised.
