Cheapest and best buy for anyone
snakeyay 17.06.2020
As a small preface: I was preparing an order and awaiting my paycheck to ding, however, in the meantime - this little thing disappeared and was all sold out. After looking around to what other options are there, I could not find something as suitable and as cheap as this. A couple of weeks later, out of sheer despair, I venture in the realms of guitar maintenance and voila! It's there.

Now, onto the neck rest - there is not much to say but that it is absolutely amazing to use it. The material is what I call "gummy wood", the same material used for corks (the "wooden cap") for wine bottles. Some of my friends thought that this would be a heavy piece of solid wood - this is even better.

If you like tinkering about with your guitar or just like to make the setup with the mat and all that for a string change, this baby is awesome. The option of two heights is also incredibly useful if you're cleaning the guitar and don't want the gravity to ruin any electronics, this is a nifty little device that can be stored easily and will be of use for the years to come. Absolutely recommend this to everyone.

Must-have

If you do any kind of semi-regular maintenance work on guitars/basses, you need to have one of these. Super cheap and simple and will probably last forever (unless it gets soaked and starts to rot). I'm glad I didn't go for something more fancy with movable parts which will eventually break.

A must have

I got this to prop up a bass that needed a new nut and it works as intended. The instrument isn't going anywhere and stays steady while working on it. The cork material makes it somewhat grippy on the surface you're working on. For everyone who still uses a rolled-up towel to support their instrument, like I did for many years, save yourself some frustration and get this thing instead.

Harley Benton GuitarTech Neck Rest

I purchased this neck rest for my guitars and bass as well, the general purpose is to change the string, make any micro setup, and for cleaning
As pros I can say the following:
- the two sides come are very useful for various models of guitars
- it is very stable and the cork material indeed protect the instrument from threats such as scratching the neck etc
cons :
- never had a problem with it as a result ... no cons

High quality, decent price and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I'm not sure there's much else to say! If you work on your own guitars these are the best option on the market.

A
Very useful tool
Albert79 19.04.2022
I used to pick up anything at hand, such as a box or a cushion, to rest the neck of a guitar whenever I had to change strings or do some work to the instrument. One day I decided to add this neck rest tool to my shopping list and I use it every time since then. It's simple and cheap, with two different positions for different width and thickness of the neck. I guess it's useful for any type of guitar (from classical to electric and more). It's also pretty tall, so I find it necessary to lift the guitar's body a bit, with a cushion or clothes, to put the instrument even. Of course, it is no inconvenient because that will also protect the body's surface and the table it is on from scratches. I personally use the tool as it came, with a plastic bag around it that I still haven't thrown away because it protects it from the dust. Anyway, I think it's a very useful tool with a bargain price.

Low cost, invaluable tool if you do your own guitar work

Invaluable tool. Very simple and luckily also relatively low cost.
But if you do any work on your guitar, it is invaluable to keep the headstock safe.

Simple, lightweight, does the job
GS-175 05.01.2022
It's great. Due to being made out of cork, it's lightweight, and has no hard edges anywhere which could damage anything. It's wide enough to be completely stable. It has two heights, one good for solid body guitars and the other good for acoustics and archtops.
