I have been playing guitar for over 30 years, and have had a lot of axes in that time. My main acoustic guitar, which I have had for 20 years, needs immediate fret repair because the frets are so worn from being played to death.
I have a number of performances coming up and I can't be without a guitar for those and don't have lefty guitar friends that I can borrow one from. So I wanted to get a cheap semi-acoustic to see me through while my main guitar is being repaired. Money is tight at the moment, so I couldn't overspend.
The Harley Benton arrived this morning and I have only put it down to write this review. I am stunned that something that costs so little can be made to this quality. Out of the box it is very playable. The action is low enough, but I may need to make it lower, but that is just a preference thing. As I say, it is totally playable out of the box. The tone from this thing is gorgeous. Really gorgeous. I'm looking forward to recording with it. Plus it has a built in Fishman preamp and tuner. Incredible.
