Nice for the price
MMCrow 07.11.2020
I wanted an electric guitar with a Floyd for some time, so I decided to buy this one mostly because of its price. I have to say it was worth it, but there are some problems that really stick out.

So, what is good?

-The pickups are fine, although they are from an unknown brand the sound isn't bad.

-After properly setting it up, the Floyd Rose bridge stays in tune.

-The finish on the guitar is really nice, the frets are smooth and polished, the maple neck is really comfortable, and the overall look of the guitar is really pleasant for the eyes. It really is a joy to play.

There are some problems that sadly, lower the total quality of this guitar.

-First is probably the biggest one. The guitar came with the volume knob broken on the inside. The knob spins around the pots and moves a bit to left and right while you turn it around. It’s a bit hard to notice at first but you can definitely feel it while turning it around. It’s not a big problem though because the knobs still work fine.

-The bridge was setup badly, but I expected that. The tension on the springs was too high and one of the strings wasn’t properly attached to the bridge, and it jumped out after I tried to tune the guitar before restringing it to see how it sounds.

-The tuners are a bit weak. It feels like sometimes you tighten to much just by slightly turning them up. The fine tuners could also be better, they are made out of very cheap plastic and tuning with them really is a pain.

Overall, I think the quality compared to the price is really good. Although I think the pros outweigh the cons, If the problems that I listed are really worrying you, I would go for something a bit more expansive.

G
Great for beginners
Güichonator 07.11.2022
Great guitar for those that want to get started with a Floyd Rose.

I lost all my guitars, amps, and gear to a fire 10 years ago, and now I'm finally buying my first guitar in 10 years. I also had to buy an amp and accessories (cable, picks, strap, stand, strings, etc) so my budget was a bit limited, that's why I decided to go with this option.

I was impressed at the overall quality of this guitar. It's not perfect, and it does have its flaws, but for its price, it's actually a really nice instrument.

The body feels good and solid. There's a belly contour at the back, but no arm contour at the front, so it might feel a bit uncomfortable depending on your playing position. Not a big deal for me though.

The neck/body junction can get a bit in the way when trying to reach the higher frets, and the neck feels fat and heavy, more like a LesPaul. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but do keep it in mind if you plan to do a lot of fast- shredding (It's not a fast neck like an Ibanez or a Jackson). The fretboard is okay and the frets feel nice and well-polished.

The electronics are okay. Not the greatest pickups, but they do sound good. They're hi-gain so they work well with hard rock music. Not worth upgrading them as you'd be better off just getting a superior guitar. The pickup switch/selector does feel a bit flimsy and cheap.

The Floyd Rose holds the tune really well, though it will eventually go out of tune if you abuse the tremolo bar too much.

There are some vibrations coming out of the guitar when playing an open E and G strings. Not sure where it's coming from; it might be the tremolo springs as this is a common problem with many guitars, though I sense the vibrations coming more from the guitar neck/head (maybe I'm crazy). I'll tinker with the springs and see if there's a way I can dampen the vibration.

It comes with generic strings, my advice is to change them before you even start using the guitar. I added some Elixir ones.

Even after upgrading the strings, the sustain is not great. I'm not a luthier so I'm not sure if there's something I could do to improve this other than replacing the pickups and locking-tremolo/Floyd Rose, but again, you'd be better off just buying a superior guitar. Maybe a compressor could help but that's out of my budget for now.

The paint quality is nice, and the golden hardware gives a nice touch; the guitar does look beautiful.

Overall it's a nice guitar for those who want to have their first Floyd Rose guitar. I don't recommend it for new players because the Floyd Rose just adds an extra obstacle to the learning curve, but it could very well be your second guitar if you want to upgrade from a cheap 100€ guitar/amp combo.

Again, it's not perfect, but it's a solid instrument. You get what you pay for, and a bit more.

If your budget is limited, it's a great option. But If you're serious about having good gear, You'll end up replacing it down the line. I know I will.

Shock to the system.
Zimmerman 29.03.2018
With this Floyd Rose licensed guitar, at 139¤, this is a banger of an instrument. Stays in tune with the locking nuts, the Fr system is easy enough for a Floyd beginner to set up and maintain and it handles very well. The neck is a thin/fat C shape and provided me a lot of comfortable playing.
The only downside with this instrument is maybe the stock pick ups which can be replaced with some SD or emg pickups at a fairly decent price to turn this guitar into a shredder.
On a side note, my fretboard arrived with some cracks down the middle and as a result I sent it back, however I WILL be buying more Harley Benton guitars. Quality for the price!

Entry level guitar

Very easy to get into and surprisingly well to play right out of the box.
Usually I think cheaper models need some work before they're fine but this one didn't have any of the "cheap" guitar stuff.

Great guitar with very high quality for the price you pay! As long as for the pickups, they sound nicely but bear in mind that the gain is high so it is mostly directed to hard rock music. The tremolo works well, the volume switch is not the best but it is a cheap price to replace it.

A
Won't find better at price, or double.
Anonymous 16.11.2022
Had an old LTD KH202 and wound up selling it a long time ago. I missed it and decided to try to find something to give me that feel again. Saw this, bought this, and am happy I did.

Pros: The neck feels great. Smooth satin finish, great frets, and fast player. The body is a good size and shape. Balances well and sounds great. I have replaced the pickups. Didn't need to at ALL, but wanted to try a few things which leads to.....it's a great mod platform. If your wanting to try modding or are experienced, this is a GREAT place to start a project.

Cons: The Floyd is not very good. It's not a knockoff...but barely. The routing for it is done awkwardly as well. There is a lip in a very odd place that makes it very near impossible to block the trem if you so desire and given the quality of the one on this guitar...you might want to. You will either have to go trial and error or pay for a professional trem block. Now the fretboard. It's almost richlite like, but worse (if your not into that, if you are you will love it).
All in all, you won't find anything better at anywhere NEAR the price.

G
Nice looking guitar
Greenboy 31.12.2020
Even though it was delayed due the french closing the border it arrived in near perfect condition! I was hoping it was a darker red than what I had seen in some pictures and, it was. Nice looking and sounding guitar for the price. Some minor inperfections but they were easily sorted out. So, would I recommend it; yes I would. It has a nice feel to the neck and, don't be afraid of a floyd rose bridge they are not as scary as some people would make them out to be. The pickups sound fine for the price and genre!

W
very good project guitar with bad FR
WhatsLaw 13.06.2021
So I'm using this guitar for ten months and I really like it. It looks good, it sounds good, it feels good. Great build quality - no sharp edges or curved neck. BUT the main problem of this guitar is floyd rose and tuners: tuners feel ultra cheap, but there's a top lock, so it doesn't matter much. And the floyd rose is awful. Don't try to use it - your tune will be ruined immediatly. And once in a month you tune will be ruined just because it's a shitty floyd rose (I've set it properly, keep this in mind). So I'm planning to get an original floyd rose, nice tuners, and stick fokin pickups in there, I think with these upgrades the guitar will be 12/10

A great and a very versatile guitar.
Adrien Andrijanić 29.09.2020
This is a guitar that is easily worth more.
I use it for recording and playing live and it sounds great especially for hard rock type of music.

The pickups sound good, the Floyd Rose stays well in tune and the neck is really nice to play on even tough it is a wide neck.
This maybe a problem only on my guitar that the pickup selector switch is very loose an is easily movable but it isn't a big problem to fix it.

Overall it is a great sounding and playing guitar and I would recommend it to anyone.

F
Great Guitar for the price, But...!
FStaff92 18.03.2023
Let me start by saying I've owned this guitar for two months and played it daily.

A Guitar with a Floyd in this price range is mega value, I could hardly believe my eyes! Unfortunately my guitar came with a small chip in the headstock lacquer, looked like the damage happened in transit. No big deal, I contacted Thomann about it and they offered to replace the guitar or offer a small refund to cover repairs - great customer service!

So, the thing about this guitar is, yes, it's a nice guitar, and yes, I got the Floyd to work perfectly and stay in tune, but it arrived virtually no set up, this wasn't a big issue for me, but for an absolute beginner (the 'target audience') its probably going to be intimidating or essentially off-putting.

After setting it up, it plays and feels great, tuning stability is really good, the pickups are voiced for high gain metal and rock, and it definitely delivers on that end.

I ended up doing a lot of work on this guitar, the frets were very scratchy at first, I went over the neck with 0000 steel wool about three times, and got rid of 95% of it. Nice.

Action height on delivery was basically unplayable, no big deal, learned how to adjust a Floyd Rose and made the best of it, it plays great now. Check.

The intonation was terrible on delivery, that was a trip, but I learned a lot about it and eventually got it pretty much dead on. Great!

The pots and capacitor in this guitar are mini sized, it sounded super compressed, also the volume pot was essentially an on/off switch with no in between, it was loud or off. I replaced both the tone and volume pots and capacitor with full sized versions and it made a HUGE difference to the sound. Soldering experience necessary, but not an impossible task by any stretch. Amazing!

Overall, I'm not a massive fan of the pickup sound, but it is exactly what was described, high gain for metal and hard rock.

After doing all this, it is a nice guitar that plays well, stays in tune, Floyd works great and returns to pitch, but it took a lot of work.

The neck is very thick despite the 'Modern C' description, still playable though. There's a slight buzz on the low E and A strings that I can't get rid of despite adjusting the truss and action height, you can't hear it with high gain distortion though.

I love the finish on the body, the hardware looks considerably cheaper than the pictures, my gold knobs arrived tarnished and the Floyd has scratches on the finish. (Visual only)

I'm not 100% convinced this is a good guitar for a total beginner, but if you're experienced enough to set it up yourself it's a total steal at this price!

Perfect project guitar, or first Floyd guitar if you're interested to learn about such things!

A solid 4/5, nothing wrong with this guitar after some (considerable) work!
