Harley Benton JA-Baritone BK

I bought this guitar recently and recently and was super excited because it is my first baritone. It came in after about a week and was happy to see that it was clean and had no damage from it's time being shipped. The Guitar was already decently set up and ready to play out of the box so I plugged it in. I think this guitar has some sort of grounding issue similar to what Spectre Sound Studios described about other models because after I turned the volume up it gave off this awful squeal/hiss/hum louder than any guitar I have ever played in my life and made it virtually unplayable. When I tried to play despite all of the noise you could still hear the problem while playing riffs and solos. I will be getting a refund for this guitar. I do not recommend anybody buy it until they fix this issue which appears to be widespread across these black hardware guitars.

Right out of the box and into an amp the noise is so loud that the guitar is useless. The neck and bridge pickups drone loudly on the cleanest settings, and the middle position is only mildly better, not good.

I have never heard P90 pickups this terrible in my life. I would never use it as is for anything live, and especially never in the studio.

Don’t bother asking for help either because according to the specialists it’s “physics, not a fault”

Just don’t buy this guitar unless you plan to install different pickups or pay someone to either solve the problem or tell you it’s a feature, not a bug.

Worthless.
