I've started on electric 30 years ago and moved to upright a couple of years later and that's what I'm mostly playing since then. But there's still some situations where i need the electric and so there's plenty of electrics around the house. Probably went through more than 50 basses since i started playing, everything from budget to custom made.
Started a project a couple of months ago and it soon became obvious it's short scale time. So after checking the market and reviews i decided to get this HB. I'm not super familiar with HB, but i did get a HB PJ75 VW some years ago which was a great surprise as it was and still is a great bass for the money. This MV4MSB doesn't disappoint either! Out of the box it looks and feels great, no quality issues, the only thing i changed was the strings - i put on flats and it's great! Sounds clear and fat with tons of output, looks and feels great!
I'm very satisfied with it and i'm not surprised the whole batch was sold in a couple of days so i'm happy i didn't hesitate!
I have a Lollar PJ set and some Kiogon looms at home that I might put in to replace the HBZ if need be but it's too early to say now, I'm playing it as is for the moment and checking how it does live and in the studio.
I hope Thomann offers a replacement pearloid pickguard at a certain point, i think it would look even better!
