Gets the job done without costing an arm and a leg
JM Herford 17.10.2020
If you're like me and you like to set your neck as close to straight as possible, this is the tool to get you there with minimal fuss. I already had a notched edge for guitars from another more expensive brand and decided to give this product a try as it was half the price of the other brand's equivalent:

Pros:
* Nice and chunky with a good weight to it - you won't be bending this thing by accident.
* It is in fact straight! I checked it against some other straight edges and there are no visible variations.

Cons:
* Has lots of sharp corners. Compared to the other brand's product, the corners are noticeably sharper; while both products require a certain degree of care when handling around an instrument to avoid leaving scratches, this one will definitely punish you harder should you have a moment of clumsiness. Some careful filing will likely fix this.

Ultimately I'm happy that I purchased this product, yeah there may be an objectively nicer product on the market but you really can't beat the price of the Harley Benton, it does its job and it does it well!

L
Good solid tool
Lasko- 03.02.2022
No trouble with overly sharp edges and it has been tested straight.
I've only used it on Fender basses so far, but had no problems setting them up.
Recommended, and happy with the price.

Not straight

Literally the only job of a straightedge is to be, wait for it, straight. I almost set up the truss rods incorrectly because I blindly believed that this product actually was as advertised.

Essential tool for bass setup
Velarian 20.11.2021
As my bass collection has grown and I’ve experimented with different string brands, gauges and tensions, this has become an essential part of my setup kit. It has both 34” and 35” scales, and does the job perfectly. Great value too.

Bit thin and bendy. Works though and very good value for money.

Excellent quality, great price!

You can either buy this one or get more or less the same product for 4-5 times the price from a US luthier shop.

I actually prefer this one over the insanely expensive ones from StewMac. I always cut my fingers on the StewMac-model. This one from Harley Benton has slightly less sharp edges and is otherwise the exact same quality.

Better product at a much lower price, nice one Thomann!

Highly recommended!

OK.

Heavy and thick (which is good). Good quality, edges could be a little less sharp. Overall absolutely worth the price :).

Top notch!
Boomer. 09.06.2023
As well as playing and collecting guitars, I do like to tinker with them and do my own setups and mods. So having a couple of bass guitars I found I needed a straightedge for their setup as I find them very useful and have one for my six strings already. This one is great quality and very sturdy, so you can't really go wrong can you? If you need one, get this HB, it's well priced, solid. And does what it's supposed to do!

Works well
James K. 26.02.2024
Item is straight however would be nice if the sharp edges were rounded so they dont scuff the fretboard, to note the item measures from the 2nd fret and not from the nut/1st fret (initially i thought it was made incorrectly). Overall good value for money

Avoid!! These are not straight
Raymo 24.08.2022
Avoid these like the plague as they are not straight, I was able to grind one side down straight as I have the tools to do it but took me a couple of hours.

Buy a straight edge from a proper luthier, like crimson guitars or stewmac. I have a straight edge for a guitar from Crimson Guitars absolutely, beautifully machined straight edge you can rely on!!
