I purchased three TE 62CC guitars in three different colors. SP, LCB, and IS. The LCB arrived pure Fire out of the box. The IS was damaged in shipping, and Thomann was great to replace it, but the replacement also came with a neck pocket crack. This SP color was just as shown in the pictures. The other two were VERY different from the advertised pictures. Especially the IS, which is nowhere near silver. It is almost sage.
This SP version was very buzzy'. I did a complete full set-up to get this guitar to cooperate. The intonation was fairly off too. I have it playable but it needs a bit of fretwork that I will do when I make upcoming modifications and improvements. The bridge pickup is adequate at best, but the neck pickup has no life or energy. The bridge pickup in the LPB was really great and the IS was somewhere between the two. This indicates that your mileage may vary with inconsistency in these guitars.
Full sized pots, quality fretwork, slotted Kluson-style tuners which stay in tune, nice finish on the neck and body, properly cut nut, snug output jack, overall nice feel are all positives that make this worth taking a chance on. You can upgrade all of the critical items on this guitar easily and pay for a set-up and have a quality gig ready guitar. The only thing you can't change affordably is the pickguard. None of the Fender/USA/MIM/Vintage/Squier guards will fit. The only option is to order one from a custom maker for $50 plus. Thankfully the mint green doesn't clash with the Shell Pink.
At it's base. This T-Style guitar in Shell Pink is definitely worth a try. Thomann has great customer service which helps too.
