General controls:
The Hercules DJ Control Inpulse T7 is a two-channel controller for the Serato DJ Pro and DJUCED software, and is equipped with two motorised 7" turntables that are made of metal and feature touch detection. During the development phase, Hercules conducted a thorough analysis of the products currently available on the market and tailored the DJ Control Inpulse T7 in response, resulting in a premium-level controller that combines multiple functions in one unit. These include an infinitely adjustable browser control, a gain knob, a three-band EQ section, a bipolar high-pass/low-pass filter, an FX paddle with a "battle mixer" design, eight large rapid-response RGB performance pads, a high-precision 10cm pitch fader with two additional pitch bend buttons, and of course motorised mini-turntables. Those just learning to DJ and mix will also no doubt appreciate the integrated LED Beatmatch Guides.
There are countless controllers for the popular Serato DJ Pro software, and many of them are pretty much identical. The Hercules DJ Control Inpulse T7 in turn is something very special thanks to its generously proportioned user interface and duo of motorised turntables, which give DJs "hands-on" analogue-style control of their digital signals, and the Inpulse T7 is even compatible with the new Serato Stems format. The controller uses sophisticated AI algorithms to allow drum, bass, music, and vocal signals to be divided into four individual tracks via the multifunctional performance pads, so users can easily create interesting mashups and add extra basslines and scratched vocals, while the "Instrumental" and "Vocal" buttons allow an instrumental or "a capella" piece to be created by either muting or isolating the vocal track. All of this may at first sound like magic, but is actually achieved with remarkable simplicity thanks to Hercules' proprietary DJUCED 6 Stems software. The Hercules DJ Control Inpulse T7 thus brings together the best of both worlds: State-of-the-art digital innovation and old-school vinyl mixing.
The Hercules DJ Control Inpulse T7 is sure to find favour among scratch DJs, who can use its two powerful motorised 7" decks to apply their turntable skills to digital files in both Serato and DJUCED formats, and the controller features master outputs in both XLR and RCA/cinch formats to ensure that the 44.1kHz/24-bit sound gets to the speakers properly. The FX paddles feature a "Hold" and an "On" position to allow the effects from the software to be applied intuitively and precisely, while the microphone input (complete with its own level control) is perfect for both Rap MCs and DJ announcements. What is more, the DJ Control Inpulse T7's retractable feet allow it to be set to the same height as the classic Technics 1200 turntables, making this controller an ideal choice for both beginners and more experienced DJs.
French manufacturer Hercules has been making all kinds of affordable audio equipment for over 30 years. The choice ranges from pro audio speakers and headphones to gaming accessories. However, the focus is currently on entry-level DJ equipment. Hercules knows how to produce well-designed equipment at impressively low prices, while always keeping beginners in mind. For example, specific models of DJ controllers come with tutorial functions that help budding DJs learn correct beat-matching and other essential DJ skills.
In addition to the Hercules DJ Control Inpulse T7 itself, the scope of delivery also includes a pair of 7" (17.8cm) replica vinyl records, two felt slipmats, a braided USB cable, an external power adapter with a removable cable, and licenses for the Serato DJ Lite software platform as well as Hercules' proprietary DJUCED DJ software (which now also includes Stems), so DJs can get started as soon as they have finished setting up. The controller's user interface is largely self-explanatory, since its design is based on that of many other popular controller models - which should come as no surprise, since Hercules was one of the earliest pioneers of DJ software controllers. The DJ Control Inpulse T7 also comes with a surprisingly affordable price tag that belies both its excellent build quality and the impressive range of features on offer.
Unlike many other controllers, which feature only rigid jog wheels, the Hercules DJ Control Inpulse T7 features a pair of genuine mini-turntables powered by a high-performance belt drive that can accelerate them from 0 to 33⅓ RPM in just a tenth of a second. These "Wheels of Steel" can be used "bare" or with a 7" vinyl record and slipmat. Hercules consciously chose the 7" format - used for standard vinyl singles - in order to give DJs the authentic old-school feel of real vinyl while keeping the controller's dimensions compact. Since the DJ Control Inpulse T7 is not equipped with tonearms, it is of course not possible to play real records with it, but any 7" single can be used as a control record. "Vinyl only" DJs will be able to find their feet very quickly on the Hercules DJ Control Inpulse T7 by virtue of the fact that mixing with this controller provides a virtually identical experience to DJing with real vinyl.
