I use it on a hercules stand to hold a piccolo trumpet, since the bell is really similar to a clarinet bell. The coating material makes it reliable, it won't ever scratch your instrument.
Used also for flute, it fits perfectly and feels really sturdy and secure.
Build qualilty is perfect and the base screw is nice and thick. Can be always trusted.
