A good zouk for the price
LMM 04.08.2013
I have long wanted to try out a bouzouki but have been put off by the very high price tags. I was a little dubious that this, being cheaper than most other zouks online, would be poor quality and produce a questionable sound. Now, I'm sure this sounds dreadful compared to a top quality specialised instrument handcrafted by a master luthier... but for the price, it's a decent little instrument!

It sounds good, though the lower pair of strings are in octave pairings rather than unison. - if you prefer the latter though, you can easily buy some d'addario unison strings from Thomann to replace those provided. But still, the sound is pleasant for the cost and the tuners are surprisingly good at holding their tune. While the construction quality isn't obviously going to rival handcrafted models at extremely high prices, it is actually quite pleasing and good quality for the price of our chase. Overall a nice little zouk for the price and an ideal starting instrument if you're not sure whether the zouk is the instrument for you yet :-)

Solid 4 or even 4.5 out of 5

I've used the product just to "meditate" and to re-record some acoustic parts. What's (surprisingly) good about it:
- Truss rod provides good installation.
- Frets are absolutly okay, no complains.
- (all the other playability stuff)
I found kind of funny the fact that the fretboard is aktually painted, so the color may wash out (if you clean it with a nail polish remover), but it's not a big deal and definitely doesn't affect the playability.

Also, bought it almost 2 years ago - still great.

This is a really good instrument for people looking to learn the bouzouki on a budget but still have one of decent quality.

Overall a good product would recommend.

This bouzouki has a great sound, holds the tuning I have it in well (DDAD) and the strings are still going strong on it.
My only dislikes are the flower detail and the classical tuning pegs I find them bit awkward to use, other than that a wonderful instrument at a respectable price.

Decent for the price

I wanted a studio instrument I could also take and play a gig with.
It's pretty enough not to be afraid to show up somewhere, but has its rough edges.
While the sound is quite clear, it sounds a bit tinny and dry.
A small annoyance is that the frets have not been set properly, so they scratch the hand when moving to different positions.

Nice instrument, very quick delivery to Ireland which is always good.
Smaller than expected and came untuned which was a minus for me but once tuned sounds good for price.
Bag is nicely padded with shoulder straps and hand strap. design is very nice however metal part the the bottom of the face can put pressure on the wrist sometimes while playing if you accidentally put pressure on the corner.
Overall 7/10
Happy with purchase and tracking information.

I got a nice bouzouki for not so much money. I recommend it as a learning instrument.

Good beginner's bouzouki
Alrik 29.11.2013
This bouzouki sports decent hardware and wood (ish). The painted fretboard feels strange, it should be natural wood. But on the whole, the bouzouki is well put together and it sounds very good. It's very loud for it's size and can cope well with a guitar-bouzouki duet.

I bought the instrument as a starter learner and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of sound for such a reasonably priced instrument.
