Evans SO-16 Tom Sound Off Damper

This damper allows to play with a minimal volume, good feeling and rebounds and keeping the tone of the drum. Before purchasing this pad I tested also mesh head for quite pratice in my house. Both systems are good; the main advantage of sound off is that you can keep standard heads underneath and remove it more easily than mesh head when you have the opportunity to play freely without disturbing the neighbors.

Does as designed, reduces sound from my toms. It is a rubber pad, so the playability is different to the real thing, however i can live with that for the sound reduction

I suggest airing these out side once you open them up as they have quite a heavy rubber odour when first opened up

These pads are amazing for practicing without making noise. They seriously allow you to use all the power you would playing live with barely any sound, making them perfect for practicing.

Any drummers that have to be conscious of the times they can play/practice and also the noise they produce when doing so, I would thoroughly recommend getting these. After seeing how good the few I bought were, I bought the rest to finish off my drum set.

This pad dampens the noise nicely but reduces stick bounce to some extent. I am happy with this as my mesh heads produce a bit too much rebound so using this rubber produces a realistic feel in the end.

I am so glad that these dampeners exist. I can play without disturbing my neighbours now. They do their job and well! The drums are really quiet. I am very happy and highly recommend these dampeners! Perhaps, the only thing that Evans could have added was a plastic (hard) material on the surface that would help with stick rebound. But, other than that, these dampeners are perfect!
