The Code of Funk ist ein sehr durchdachtes Lehrbuch für alle die auf David Garibaldis preziese funky Grooves stehen.

Die 8 Tower of Power Songs sind genau ausgeschrieben. Vor jedem Stück wird das jeweilige Drumconcept vorgestellt und die Basisgrooves besprochen. Trotz tausender Ghostnotes ist der Notation gut zu folgen.

Die mitgelieferten CD's bzw. DVD's ermöglichen eine Vielzahl von Übemöglichkeiten. Man kann z. B. zum Minus-Drum Track spielen, sich aber auch ( dank der DVD's) gezielt einzelne Drumparts herausnehmen um dem Original noch näher zu kommen!

Dieses Buch überzeugt da es keine Wünsche offen lässt. Bei dem Versuch Garibaldis komplexe und durchaus komplizierten Grooves nachzuspielen wird man dank der Features nie allein gelassen!
