Overall, this is a good value and fun bass guitar. I love the finish and it's VERY light and easy to play, with a good range of tones. For someone used to Fender Jazz and Precision basses, it's quite different: you don't get that heavy bottom end 'thump' that you get with a bigger and heavier bodied bass. But that's what I wanted - something different in my arsenal. But... and it's a big but... the set-up out of the box was UNPLAYABLE. I mean absolutely screwed. The truss rod was so off that none of the strings could be fretted. They just rattled. I'm fairly experienced with such matters so was able to adjust the truss rod and fix it. 10 or 15 years ago - as a beginner - I wouldn't have been able to (or too scared to). It's the worst set-up I've ever seen in over 20 years of buying guitars. Not sure if it's an Ibanez or Thomann issue, but these guitars should not be shipped in an unplayable state like this. And looking at the other reviews, this isn't just a one off. I will have fun with this bass, but that set-up really ruined my first impressions and sense of joy. Pretty annoyed to tell you the truth.
