This is a hard review to write... On the positive side, some of the captures are REALLY good. I bought this mainly for high-quality, high-gain sounds - and there are some excellent 3rd-party tone models that sound absolutely great.
HOWEVER, this is the most infuriating, badly-designed, user-UNfriendly piece of music equipment I have ever bought. Sure, it's much cheaper than a Kemper or a QuadCortex - but that shouldn't mean it's so frustrating to use. The display is idiotic, it's only one line and so it can't even display the full name of most presets. The fact it has USB-B and not USB-C is also bizarre. The manual is confusing and badly written, the software is buggy and also user-unfriendly (why do I need to create a separate account at Tone.net but apparently use the same username as my IK Multimedia account?). There are many shortcomings to using this pedal - I bought a Simplifier X, which looks far more complicated but it's so intuitive and easy to use I only had to consult the manual once!
Summary: some excellent third-party captures provide access to some really good, and often quite unusual, amps, pedals and cabinets. This is the plus point - the frustrating software, horrible user experience, bad support from IK Multimedia means I've spent more time trying to work out to use this thing than acutally appreciating the sounds!
PS If you don't care about captures and just want a decent amp and cab modeller, the BOSS IR-2 is fantastic in every respect.
