Jensen C8R 4 Ohms

I ordered this Jensen C8R 4 Ohm speaker as an upgrade for a little 5W Fender Champion 600.
The Champion uses a cheap 6" speaker as standard and I thought a quality 8" speaker would really open it up, there is just room inside the cabinet for an 8" speaker but requires a new baffle board to be manufactured.
The Jensen website has plenty of sound samples and I looked at the ceramic C8R and the alnico P8R before deciding that the C8R would probably work best for the clean sounds I looking for from the amp.
When I unpacked the speaker the first thing I noticed was a very strong smell of glue and I discovered that there was a ring of sticky adhesive right around the edge of the cone approximately 30mm wide.
it appears as if the adhesive has not cured properly from the manufacturing process.
I contacted Thomann and also requested a return, then emailed a photograph and subsequently sent two more emails and I'm still waiting for a response.
I also contacted Jensen to see if they could offer any advice and again I haven't received a response.
Sadly as it stands I cant recommend either Thomann or Jensen after this, very disappointing.....
