BEST Table-style Stand!!
Magilla66 27.03.2019
NOTE: This review has been updated as of 31 July 2021.
I have been using this stand for over 2 years now, and can say that it is (a) the most unique, (b) sturdy & light, (c) compact, (d) keyboard stand that can adapt to any size keyboard. The stand is sturdy enough to attach Triad-Orbit clamps, joints, and other Triad accessories, including a laptop platform plus Lenovo Legion laptop, without tipping or feeling unstable. I have been so impressed, that I have bought a second unit from Thomann - they've got the best prices and availability!

This is my very first order from Thomann - I ordered this stand and the two stacker kits A + B (18881 & 18882).

The 18880 stand was easy to assemble. Instructions in English were clear, with descriptive diagrams.

A little disappointed when received, as parts could be heard rattling around inside: knobs, washers, and screws. No parts bag, so they must have been loose when packaged by K&M.

After assembling and adjusting the height to a standing position for playing, I set my 60-pound Korg Triton Extreme88 on it. Looks nice in situ; hope it's rock-steady when I jam on songs like Highway Star or Carry On Wayward Son.

PROS
- Quick assembly / height adjustment (tool included)
- Lightweight, collapsible for transport
- 2nd/3rd tier stackers

CONS
- Fixed stacker width (need trays for smaller modules / keyboards - 18819, 18824)
- May wobble sideways with heavy keyboards while playing

/TLDR: Good stand, but not 100% great. Varying stability bar lengths would allow for different main keyboard widths/stacker widths.

When it’s finally in place, it’s pretty good, as I only play at home, but it would be a bit fiddly to dismantle regularly for gigs. Same applies when you need to adjust the height of the add-on tiers. Lots of fiddling and unscrewing needed. I found the stand didn’t go low enough for my Yamaha CP 300, so I had to chop it slightly. I have two extensions on top and it holds them up pretty well. All in all, it’s fine for home use and I much prefer it to ‘X’ stands.

Super lightweight... But sturdy!
yipsiotis 03.04.2021
Been using this almost daily for over a year with my studiologic sl88 studio, no problems whatsoever.

Pro’s:
Light
Sturdy
Quick to assemble

Cons:
Doesn’t easily adjust up and down.
Needs a flat surface to stand on.

I have used a lot of keyboard stands over the years, playing in different places each day... so far this is my favorite one..

Great stand!
ProfWacko 24.01.2020
This is a very good stand solution for anyone looking for something lighter to carry around.

My Crumar Mojo XT fits great and it's very solid.

Now I need a lighter throne to go with.

Ok for studio/house but not for live performance
Valdalex 26.07.2023
If you need a portable and flexible stand for concerts or live activity, this is unfortunately not a good choice. It is not very handy to setup and transport, I had a lot of issues using it on tour and eventually moved back to a more traditional X stand. Can be good for studio/home use (once is set is rather solid), but definitely not a good choice for live musicians.

I bought this stand after it was recommenced by a friend, who has used it for 15 years with no problems. The stand is of excellent quality, and hosts my Nord C1 organ without any stability problems. The inclusion of the stability bar with the keyboard stand is a good idea, however not even necessary even for the organ; without the stability bar you can take the stand down in seconds and fit it into a very small space as it's very compact and convenient. When packing up the stand, try not to loosen the screws excessively as they can come off, but apart from that this is a great stand which I'd highly recommend and will last you years.

dissapointing
Michael1355 27.07.2015
Flimsy build quality, hard to adjust height (you need to use a spanner). Stabilizer bar is awkward, and the unit is unstable anyway. Within two gigs I had already lost pieces. Scratches up immediately. the only good thins about this stand is its light. Mine has now been relegated to studio use. I do not recommend this as it flimsy, clumsy, bitty and unstable. Good concept (lightweight live 2 tier stand), poor execution by K and M.

Absolutely brilliant
Michael5328 04.02.2015
strong, portable, folds up very compact, sturdy, unshakable music stand no matter how heavy you play on the keys, absolutely brilliant for home use or performance use, very easy to fold up and carry or put in the car, absolutely fantastic, best keyboard stand or digital piano stand I've ever owned and I would buy it again if I had to.
Especially fantastic for heavy or big digital pianos or keyboards. When it folds up it is very compact and easily carried.
Looks perfect too.

Stable and compact
Hepcat McSwing 11.01.2021
Very nice stand that folds up pretty tight. It is very stable, even without the cross brace (which I don't use because it takes up relatively too much space and uses up relatively much set-up time. Especially with heavier keyboards, the board itself will provide enough structural support to the stand. In terms of stability, play room, transport space and setup time, you can't beat this stand.

Best off-the-shelf 3-tier keyboard stand
qwertylol 29.01.2023
I bought the three tiers as a package. They are great for temporary studio setups. I've never gigged with them. Setting up all 3 tiers takes a while, but once configured it can be quickly collapsed without changing anything but the width. Much better than a multi-tier X-style stand, which I will never go back to. Not perfect, though: To keep stand parts from getting in the way of your playing, the tiers must be spaced 6-8" apart, and (vertically) shorter keyboards may need a height boost.
For studio users like myself, if you have 2 or 3 keyboards to keep stacked long-term, and you're willing to spend a bit more money and time, DIY solutions yield better results. There are a few good methods: Wood and construction adhesive; structural pipe connectors such as MakerPipe; or a combination, which is what I use now.
