I'm using the mic stand in my home studio. The studio is very compact and I don't have the room to leave mic stands set up after a recording session. I have become completely fed up with the hassle of setting up my old mic stands with their boom arms, and seemed to spend more time getting the mics at the right height and position than actually recording.
I am so glad I bought this. Its ability to be set at a lower height than most mic stands was a real boon. For so long I have been fiddling with a boom arm to get the mics low enough to record acoustic guitar when I am sitting down. Now it's just so easy.
It's also tall enough, at full extension, to use as a mic stand for the sax and at a lower height for vocals. It is a bit wobbly when it is fully extended, but it is fine for me as I'm not jumping around causing the stand to sway.
I'll probably get another one for convenience. I will then be able to hang the stands on the wall set at the correct height, with the T-bar and suspension cages for the mics permanently installed. Then, hopefully, set up time will be minimal and I will be able to get down to recording some tracks before my enthusiasm runs out.
