This newest version does not have a mute jack. I use a foot pedal extensively to mute my rig to tune and this is a huge dealbreaker. I was really hoping that the tuner had a firmware feature that could repurpose the new output jack into a mute jack, but no.
The entire housing is cheap plastic. The rack ears are plastic, too, and snap in, which means they'll snap off. This tuner has a large wall wart for a power brick *and* it's angled 90° so that it blocks either another outlet in my Furman or it blocks the breaker button. The interface is nice, though. Big, bright, colorful, and easy to read from a distance.
Overall it weighs nothing and feels delicate. Will I keep it? Yes but I will treat it a fragile. It would have been a perfect 5 star if made out of aluminum like every other quality piece of equipment in your recording rack.
However, this tuner shines brightly with LEDS. It's VERY responsive and easy to see. The cable tester is an added bonus.
Finally this new PitchBlack was a major disappointment.
