Extremely addictive
A6-Andromeda 29.03.2019
I bought it reluctantly because, after watching several videos on YouTube, the sound didn't convince me that much. I also thought that, due to its small size, it was logical to assume its possibilities would be limited; perhaps the set of modules might be too short.
Well, after several days without being able to stop playing with it, I must say that I couldn't be more wrong, in both cases. The palette of timbres and behaviors is endless, being key the arithmetic module, auto-modulations, and having two lowpass gates. The stochastic sequencer over pentatonic scales with microtonal variations is a killer combo.
PROS: Incredibly deep instrument for such a tiny size, many uniquely beautiful, classic and weird sounds to design/discover.
CONS: The spatial module isn't the most useful thing you'll come across, although it's as stereo as it can be. Tiny size and cables makes bad ergonomics, so you can end up with back pain or something.

Surprisingly fun
Earl Langoustine 24.02.2020
Got this synth over the holidays expecting weird wonky bleeps and bloops, but was pleasantly surprised at how musical this little synth can be. Patching it is fun, once you learn how to read the front panel. The manual is thorough and intuitive.

But what really makes the Korg Modular a joy is the sequencer - dialing up a little sequence that plays in your chosen key, and then using all the randomization features can get you into far-out musical territory. Great when coupled with a nice delay/reverb pedal. Even does microtuning - perfect for Aphex heads who want to get their Richard D. Jam on!

Good Volca for fun, but without MIDI in
podsky 25.11.2020
For me - fun instrument to fiddle and play with, most likely good for learning too. However, it is hard to fit it into any setup that relies on midi (there is no midi in on board).
I am also not a big fan of its sound (requires effects even more than other volcas).

To sum up - I spend a lot of time with it, but the output is minimal, and only in form of samples I can use in ableton, not as a stable part of my setup.

To much easy
denis_sots 05.06.2022
It is my first offline synth. I chose it because i what to get uniq and have full control.

Sound quality is great. It is really unique and i like so much.

The main flaw that synth do not have midi interface. I can not easily sync it with my DAW. To mw now it is more toy than real synth, because i can not comfortably integrate it to my work flow.

Maybe it is not what I need and i should get volca keys first.
