I bought this Lead Foot ABY to switch between - and mix together - the left and the right channel on my 22500 Loper's stereo output.

To test channel interference, I used the A and B 1/4" jacks as inputs in which I sent a 0 dB (1 kHz) signal. I connected one of the parallel 1/4" jacks as output to a HI-Z input on an Audio Interface to measure signal strength. There was no change in the signal on the selected channel, but there was a crosstalk of -28dB from the non-selected channel. When A and B input were linked together, the sum of the signals was +6dB.

The buttons are fitted with just 4 cm distance between them which means that you need to be a bit accurate not to press the wrong button by misstake. The advantage is that you can easily press both buttons at the same time if you need to.

When both A and B are active at the same time, both LEDs are illuminated. Therefore - if you forgot the previous A/B setting, you can not determine which of the A and B jacks that becomes active when the Y-connection is disabled. (This could have been encoded with the use of multicolor LEDs.) The LEDs are small and sits deep in the panel and is therefore a little difficult to read in bright light and/or at a large viewing angle, but mostly this is no problem.

There was no problem to get the 9V battery in and out of the box. The LEDs are activated whenever a plug is inserted in one of the "parallel" in/out jacks.

The Lead Foot ABY switch pedal does what it is meant to do. Feels robust, and has a good price

No difference between Lead ABY and other expensive brands
Zoka 25.04.2021
This is the very good ABY switcher. my opinion is there is no difference between Lead ABY and other expensive brands. The size of the Lead Foot ABY is just right for me. I can keep 2 guitars plugged in with the ability to quickly & noiselessly switch them out within seconds. At the end of the night, I just unplug it and it tucks away perfectly into my pedal board. Finally, it only takes a single AA battery which lasts a long time as long as you remember to unplug your cables. If you're in need of an excellent AB box, this is the one to get, especially for the price.

Great piece of switcher
skudrupuznis 18.01.2022
I wanted to buy a cheap ABY switcher and I wanted to check this one out because the price is just so low. I works great, I actually cannot find any reason to buy a more expensive one except the only downside and also the only reason why I am not using it more frequently is just that the pedal is bit too big to squeeze on my pedalboard. My bad for not looking on the dimensions of it. Otherwise, a good buy.

M
Great pedal
Mart22 22.09.2022
I love this little box.
Since it doesnt require a battery to work i can take it everywhere with me.
I love to use this pedal on my portable amplifier. I hook the pedal up to it and i can jam along with my friends anywhere i want.

Using the pedal can feel a littler bit clingy at first, but once you get used to it its a walk in the park. If you dont have a battery in it, the light doesnt work so you have to press buttons untill it works ;).

10/10 would buy again

Overall good product
Marcel5392 19.09.2019
The switching works perfect, nice solid housing, very good value!
There are a few things that can be improved:
The battery cover is horrible to put back on. The screw on the side takes up space on the pedalboard.
The battery sits loose inside the housing, I hope this is not harmful for the pcb board inside the pedal.
When plugged in, the led stays on. So I have to unplug the unit to prevent the battery from draining when I am not using it. A power supply connection would have been nice.

A
Great for the price
Anonymous 17.06.2022
I am not a professional musician, so I only use this in my music room to switch between amps. I have had no issues with this at all and the price is excellent. The only small con was that it was shipped in a box with no bubble wrap or protective foam. The switch worked and was not damaged when it arrived, but I could see this being problematic if the package had been knocked around more by the shipping company. Some extra protective packaging would be a good idea.
As it is I'd probably still buy one again at this price point. It functions well and is by far the cheapest option I've ever seen for one of these switches.

Direct the output to amp or audio device
DTaylor 10.02.2022
Simple, cheap, but sturdy solution. It works only with battery - the battery cover a little bit clumsy, anyway battery needs for only for the leds. I am not using it.

I am using it to direct the guitar signal to am or the audio device.

Almost perfect
glezmen 18.10.2023
Cheap, in some places it even FEELS cheap, but does the work perfectly. With this I can plug in two guitars the same time to two amps (actually, an amp and my Rocksmith cable :D).
I have only one complaint: there is no power connector. It is not a big deal, as this thing is totally passive and works without power, but if you want the LED indicator to light up, you have to connect a 9V battery.

DK
A useful spltter that Does its job
Dimitris K.. 16.06.2021
I got this switch to split the guitar signal between two amps. Another reason is to have a switcher for my amp or for my guitar tuner where in both cases It does it's job. The case and switches seem robust. My opinion is there is no difference between Lead ABY and other expensive brands. The size is just right for me.
As a cons I could say the lack of jack input for power supply, only butteries are available, however it works without the battery, which is only necessary for the led lights. It only takes a single AA battery which lasts a long time as long as you remember to unplug your cables.
Also, it can be used 2-ways (2in 1out or 1in 2out). Great value.

No complaints but I've hardly used it. A bit bulky & heavy for something that does a simple job.
