Crackles and ruins tone, completely useless.

This pedal produces loud crackling when operated. It is completely useless. The build quality also seems very poor. Don't waste your money on this junk. I'm returning it for a refund.

Edit: Thoman generously offered me to keep the pedal AND receive a store credit. I figured I could try to fix it and accepted. I first cleaned the pot. This helped for a few minutes but then the crackling returned. Less than before but still useless. I also discovered that the pedal completely ruins my tone. It steals a LOT of highs. Very, very poor!

I was planning to install a new pot if the cleaning didn't help but now it's definitely heading for the bin. Sadly it's a complete piece of junk. STAY AWAY!!!
