Line6 Helix HX Effects

This unit is by far one of my best purchases in a long time. Using it in 4 cable method, so I use a lot of delays and reverbs as well as drives, modulation and so on. Effects sound absolutely amazing, i havent found a bad one yet. With MIDI switching I can change channels on my JVM Joe Satriani which is also very nice.

Snapshot feature is the best thing, as you can set up a desired channel on your amp and select which effects to go with it with press of one button with no delay or unwanted noise between snapshots. Unit also has an IR loader so you can use preamps and go direct to front of house, which is also very useful. Unit is also sooo user friendly and build to outlast a nuclear explosion.

Try it and it will change the way you aproach guitar sound...and make you never go back to old tap-dancing, patch cables gone bad, noisy pedalboard!!

I was quite annoyed when I heard about the release of the HX Effects from Line-6, because I had just finished building my pedalboard and it had all of the features I wanted.
To make a long story short, the HX can do (and do very well) what 6 pedals of my old board did. Having them all in one unit is good for so many reasons - fewer cables, no need to get devices to talk to each other via midi...
I won't try to describe how good the individual effects sound, because that's very much down to personal taste. Suffice to say that to me, they sound just as good as the 'real thing'.
The user interface is absolutely amazing. It's so well designed, it's so intuitive, you'll have it figured out in no time at all. Much better than any device I've every tried. Everything seems to be right there and easy to adjust, despite how much there is going on.
The PC editor is absolutely amazing - it's very easy to create patches and presets on the board itself, but it's slightly more comfortable on the editor. The only downside is that you might get some noise if your HX is connected to your PC.
There are a few bugs that hopefully will be corrected by upcoming updates. But the updates are coming, and also easy to execute.
Some functions I'm yet to try - controlling the unit via midi (which can also be done via USB). This would be very useful for sequencing your effects in advance in a recording or live-looping situation, so that you don't need to worry about hitting the effects with your feet and can focus on performing.
This unit can do so much, and for many people it could replace their whole board.

J'ai pas mal joué sur les PodX3, HD et autres, et les simulations d'ampli franchement, ça ne me plait pas.
Par contre, j'aime bien les effets de Line 6, ils se bonifient au fil des versions. J'ai eu un M9 pendant longtemps, et j'en étais très satisfait. J'ai pris ce HX car en plus d'abriter tous les effets du M9, il en apporte de nouveaux de belle facture, et il a une boucle d'effet, deux sorties Expr dont une peut se transformer en sortie switch. La boucle d'effet permet de câbler l'ampli en 4CM, ce que je cherchais. Je peux donc utiliser la whawha et les fuzz du HX avant l'ampli, et les autres effets après l'ampli.
Je pilote les canaux de l'ampli aussi depuis le HX. Très pratique
