I have boght this unit to replace my Yamaha AG06 which I really loved. Unfortunately Yamaha drivers coused mistakes and sometimes I couldn't run any player or DAW. I had to restart computer again and again... This is why I landed with AIR 192/8
PROS
- very convinient in operation
- it is built quite well and sturdy
- the feel of knobs is very good
- switches work well
- power supply via USB cable
- sample rate up to 192kHz
- preamps are good enough although gain is not sufficient for dynamic microphones. To boost signal for my SM7B I have to use FetHead
CONS
- sometimes I experience problem with drivers under Windows 10 - my DAW launches very long or freezes. Reinstallation of drivers allways helps
- headphones loudness during music playback is ok - it may be very loud. But during recording when you monitor your own voice audibility is not loud enough. This is ridiculous
- no possibility of recording what is played back (for example when you play music in player there is no way to record it in DAW). So you cannot record voice and add music in background in real time. I record podcasts and I wish to add music to spoken voice in real time, no in postproduction :(
- 10dB PAD is only for microphones. I wish it attenuates per channel (I mean microphone and line input)
- LED indicators for signal mesurement are not very precise. They only give you orientation
- phantom power is not per channel, the switch launches both channels
- no onboard effects. I miss especially reverb which is very helpful when singing. It is realy not fair to sell interface for musician purposes witchout reverb effect :(
