Amazing unit!

As a person who runs a studio using both digital and analogue equipment, I really enjoy the hands on feeling of physical equipment, rather than digital plugins etc.

The one thing missing from my set up was a way to mix my tracks within my DAW, with the same hands on approach that much of my hardware has. I hate having to stare at a screen and use a mouse to make big changes to my mix through levels or inserts - so the Mackie Control Universal Pro seemed like an ideal piece of equipment to put the control of my mix sessions into my hands!

The MCU Pro is great, I absolutely love it and would consider it one of the best pieces of equipment that I own! Everything is able to be controlled easily in front of you and you rarely even have to look at your computer screen. It drastically increases and improves your work flow, allowing you to control a huge amount of features with fades, knobs and button combinations.

The MCU Pro is really well built - strong and tough, and is very pleasing to look at! It's extremely easy to set up with your DAW - I set up the MCU Pro and two extender units with Logic Pro 9, Logic Pro X and Pro Tools 11 in under half an hour, and had it working perfectly!

Cannot recommend this unit enough!

C'est la deuxième Mackie control que j'utilise depuis la création du produit. la première a été utilisée plus de vingt ans et c'est 'alimentation qui a laché. Système revu depuis. Parfaitement intégrée à Cubase, elle ne m'a jamais fait défaut. la première a été d'abord remplacée par Une Qcon qui est tombée en panne deux mois après l'acaht est s'est révélée non réparable donc le choix de remplacement a été vite fait bien que plus chère que la Q con

Big footprint - great if you like that

I bought this together with two extenders. Some people buy controllers and stop using them after a couple of months. Not me. I get tons of use out of these things. It makes automation duties...maybe not easier, but a lot more "natural" for sure. I also like that it's pretty big - makes it feel less toy-ish. I also noticed that the feature set has been altered a bit with the release of Cubase 7.5. I've tried the new functions and it's definitely a big improvement! Highly recommended for Cubase users.

Superb!

Great product, helped me immensely mixing down a project I had over the last two months... If you want one, buy one... You'll for sure work out a way to 'need' this once you start to work with it, and it looks awesome... Feels very professional

Also... Controls every last one of my plugins with no set up required!

Workhorse and reliable

Ultra responsive desk with easily navigated functions. Solid build and sturdy feel. Zero complaints after 2 years of use in professional post produvtion and music mixing.

This is the best daw controller , that I had during the years in my home studio. Great assembly , nice faders. Easy to operate and the plug and play makes it easy to work with from the beggining.
I recommend it for anybody seeking a decent one.

waste of desk space to be honest

Was fine at first, but not really needed, just a pretendy console, with scribble strips that sometimes displayed rubbish until I rebooted it.
So, I kept it for 2 weeks and realised it was a waste of space, Once I even forgot to turn it on when I was recording/mixing!
So I sent it back.

Thomann kindly face me a refund, excellent service, thank you.
Advice if you are thinking of this or ANY DAW controller, forget it, learn the computer keyboard shortcuts, theres no need for a DAW controller, whats next? A DAW controller controller!?
