I am using this in the top of the vertical tube of a computer monitor stand to mount a camera and a microphone boom arm. Great way to keep desk space clear.

NB: If planning to drop it into a tube it is actually 1 1/8" not 28 mm. I had to pay a local machine shop €20 to take a fraction of a mm off.
