I've played a few basses in my life, some high end MTD's, the occasional fender squire, standard, warwick and I have to say this rather blew me away completely.
So everyone is hyping this guitar and in theory it looked good. Specs were good. Finish was good. Sound was good, it sounded like a P-Bass what more can you ask of it. But it seriously impressed me. I prefer it way over a lot of other more expensive instruments that I've tested.
Finish is flawless on this.. it looks incredible in person and I don't say that lightly attention to detail is spot on! The neck feels amazing.. your hand glides up and down the fretboard with that satin finish. Tuners feel nice, solid bridge, stays in tune properly literally what more could you need. The sustain on the guitar is amazing.
Sound wise it sounds like a good solid P-Bass. Even the low B actually sounds nice and isn't all flabby like you would expect on a lot of other cheaper or similarly prices models. Overall the guitar sits great in a mix and is worth every penny. Should the pickups not suffice you can always upgrade them. This is such a solid instrument that whenever I have some spare money left I will be buying the V5 version of this for all those Jazz-y needs.
Playability is as good as I would want any instrument to be. It's easy on the fingers, that neck is extremely comfortable and easy to play. The notes just ring out beautifully. I bought this for studio work and recording and it's so much more than that. I will look for occasions to use this live because it is simply an amazing instrument for the money.
I would give this an 11/10 it's amazing what Sire managed to do with this guitar! Every time I come home and see it I'm amazed by how good it looks...
