Not a lot to say about a product that holds a good placement in the list of the "why didn't anybody has come up with this before?!" utility tools.........
It makes clever use of velcro stretch (thank you NASA!).
If your cabinet it's carpeted it just sticks to it, if it's not, you can still use it, provided you have an handle or something to make it hold on to.
I keep it in my gigbag so I don't have to carry a regular guitar/bass stand with me vs which I think it's much safer, since it holds the neck of your guitar/bass.
Bottom line: a very useful gizmo which is really a no brainer.

Great product, but...
C.Sollie 12.02.2018
This can save you having to take a guitar stand with you to a gig, or save you from the same guitar stand at home to save space.
Make sure your speaker is tall enough to support the bass/guitar/whatever, as many are just too low to use this product.
The point you attach it to should be higher than the body of the instrument is long. In other words, make sure the attaching point is actually on the guitars neck.

Didn't know I needed this until I used it!
Walt P 11.02.2021
I saw the Markbass Bass Keeper in the online catalog and decided to try one. I'm glad I did. I use a small stand to hold my electric bass on stage, since it fits easily into a gig bag. However, the small stand is less stable than I had hoped and I always had some uncertainty about whether the bass would remain upright when people were moving around on the stage.
I tried the Markbass Bass Keeper and it worked perfectly! It attached easily to the handle of a bass cabinet and held my electric bass guitar securely! I could relax, knowing that there would not be a loud crash and a broken headstock during the evening.
Again, I didn't know how useful the Markbass Bass Keeper would be until I used it. I won't do a gig without it!

Handy bass holder
Lupercio 13.07.2024
As a bass player I usually take a bass stand with me for stage presentations and it could be a bit bulky sometimes when it does not fit easily in your bass case or your amp case. Since I bought the Markbass Bass Keeper I just take it in the bass gig bag's pocket and still can take all my bass cables and pedals without effort. When I get to the stage I attach it to the side handle of my bass cabinet and it secures the bass anytime that I'm not playing. It is very well built and a very handy little gadget.

Perfect!
Beverley 10.08.2013
I bought this as a quick & simple solution to keeping my bass from falling over or being stepped on during rehearsal/gigs. Like the product name suggests it keeps my bass safe out of harms way. Made with high quality materials and long lasting. The material is also padded so that no damage can to the instrument being propped up against the amp its attached to. For anyone lacking the space to bring a stand with them to and gig it is the perfect solution. I personally prefer this over a stand during gigs as it is easy to strap in whilst other matters are attended to in terms of sound check - whereas on a stand more care must be taken to make sure that the stand itself holding the instrument isn't knocked over.
Overall:
Good Quality
Padded for extra security
A more expensive alternative to a stand however I personally prefer it
Easily stored in a pocket in your case.
Buy with confidence!

No more worrying
Anonymous 10.11.2014
Well, less worrying really. I feel far more comfortable leaving my bass secured to the side of my cab than in any rack or stand (apart from a wall hanger at home). This is made of strong fabric that is probably mostly plastic fibres. The Velcro is more than strong enough to hold onto a fuzzy cab but I prefer to use the side handles. This really is the one thing I'd urge you to buy, it will pay itself back in minutes, even if it just reduces the stress of leaving your instrument on stage, let alone costly repair work if your precious bass were to be damaged with out this. I imagine it will work well for guitars too. MarkBass are onto another winner with this :)

Genius
Peter3158 25.02.2016
Great invention. All those years of carrying stands to gigs to put my basses on. Now Markbass invent this and it's light, works well, keeps the bass more secure than a stand and is cheap than a stand too. Depending on where you're jack output socket is you may have to unplug your bass to use the Keeper. And you've got have a cab that's got a covering that velcro can stick to, or put velcro on your cab.

OK
Simple product, but works incredibly on stage and at home
Owen K. 08.09.2020
Like everything made by MarkBass, the quality here is to a very high standard. This is a simple design, but like all great ideas born out of simplicity - you wonder why no one made it before.
Velcro it to your bass, and it velcros around the neck of your instrument to keep it safe. It's small so it fits in a gig bag and because it's fabric it doesn't take a lot of space in your kit.

Simple, but very handy
Marce de G. 27.01.2020
My basses are my pride. So if something happens to them I'll freak out. With this simple feature your bass is always safe from falling down without the need to carry a stand around. It sticks to your cabinet in a safe way. I use it everytime during stage preformance and studio work. I can leave my basses just with my stack without the worry of them falling down. It's simple to use and with this price a real great deal for the protection of your priceless bass.
