I got this ride about 5 years ago and finally I decided to review it.

My adventures with masterwork cymbals started when I wanted a new hi-hat. I got myself a Custom 14" hi-hat, which was nice, versatile, crispy sounding and pretty washy. It was, basically, everything I expected.

For years I used only 20" rides so i decided to finally get 22" ride. Because of my pleasant experience with masterwork hi-hats, i got masterwork custom 22" ride.
So this was where my 22" ride adventure began. At that time I played a lot of jazz/pop/rock and a little bit of punk/hardcore. At first I tried to use it in jazz/pop gig and, well, it was disappointing.
WHY?? you may ask...
This ride is super loud and aggressive. I had to play it so lightly, and, to be honest, it was a huge inconvenience. So, after short period of time, I switched back to my A custom 20" ride.
But then, some time later, I joined hardcore/punk band. And, oh boy, this cymbal shines in this setting. It's so appropriate to use it in louder music. The bell is thick and loud, the body is super crash-able and washy and it cuts through very well. I mostly crash it, but it can produce a defined and metallic ride ping. It's a blessing I kept it, because now, playing louder music, I can't imagine my cymbal setup without this ride.
Quality wise i think it's very well produced. I may not be the violent basher, but no cracks, no dents, no keyholes. I'm not sure if I will ever crack it. If or when it happens, I'm getting another one of these.

In conclusion - it's a well built cymbal, loud, washy and aggressive. Perfect for louder music. Probably not suited for more intimate musical settings.
