If you're here to reassure yourself to buy this crash, you're at the right place.

Byzance series has very versatile and complex cymbals, especially rides, and even though this is a crash cymbals, it still wears that label.
I use it as my main crash in studio for psychedelic stoner doom project Sunguine. It has that sizzling quality, it doesn't subsides too fast, and it's not too piercing either. I decided to go with 19" because smaller and bigger Polyphonic crashes didn't sound right to my liking.

I use it mainly for heavier stuff, but it sounds so deliciously good when you barely crash it during some interlude or calmer parts of the lenghty songs. Bell is also characteristically Byzance sounding, not to bright nor too mellow, just about right.

In studio settings you can control it really well, depending on the mic placement of course. I haven't played it in live setting but I'm sure it would sit well in the mix.

If you're looking for some not-too-dark-nor-too-bright full sounding crash, look no more.
