Great for what it is!

Bought this together with a mid-range Bodrhan from this website. Very comfortably playable for my sister. whom I bought this for, so if you are wondering if this is a good choice for a female player, I guess the answer is positive!

Before you buy it, do your research on the style you want to play, as different beaters accomodate different styles. Personally, I bought this one in conjunction with the FDT2 one, in order to give my sister some more options.

A
Unique bodhran beater at a good price
Anonymous 18.02.2017
This Meinl bodhran tipper is thin and light, and features an off-set balance point and grip ridges, designed for the vertical style of playing. I got it about half a year ago and I've been very pleased with it so far.
This tipper is very attractive, with its dark reddish-brown finish. Mine is 9 3/4" in length and 3/8" wide at grip. It does have off-centre turnings as pictured. These do not interfere with my grip, as I grasp the tipper in the centre in order to be able to do end-to-end rolls. I may install some tennis racquet-handle tape to make the grip less slippery. I notice right off that while balance seems fine, there is relatively little weight at the ends, so that changes the throw of the stroke.
All in all, an excellent beater to add to one's collection for experimentation and experience.

That's what I used now

I did not know what's bodhran stick I will use, so I bought them all. Now I use only this one, and the reason is simple it's lighter, so more control and less fatigue.
