I purchased this after using the Schlagwerk Krix Rhythm Step. The Krix makes an excellent addition to the cajon but I found it too fiddly to attach to my shoes, threading it underneath my shoelaces. The Meinl Foot Shaker fits easily and quickly over the shoe, which makes this super easy to attach and to take off.
I use it as a hi-hat substitute, while playing modern drum patterns on the cajon. It?s loud enough to use along with a mic?d cajon. Its not as loud as the foot tambourine but produces a smoother, more subtle sound - just like an egg shaker - but for your foot.

Not too expensive, fits well, I've had this for a number of years and still get great use for the price! Very robust too!
