Feels a little cheap but works well

This rim clamp fits LP Conga rims no problem, also standard rock drum kit rims. Anything with a "universal" hoop or rim should be no problem for it. Once tightened it is stable and the matching knurled rods for percussion or mic mounts will not move. However I didn't realise the handle to tighten the clamp would be such ordinary plastic. It's adequate but a little too light and flexible. This handle turns a bolt that goes to an ordinary nut and relies on friction inside the nut like a Nylok-type to secure it, not the tightness of the clamp. So you feel friction as you tighten it and you think you have completely tightened it but it may still be loose. The nut is small and if it does use a Nylok-type ring I would be concerned about it wearing out.
It clamps onto a knurled (roughened) rod in a clamp on the side. This grips well but when you open it sometimes it will not release the clamp until you pull it open with your hand. This is OK but needs a better spring under it to release the clamp as it is more difficult to disassemble.
Despite these issues the clamp functions well enough and remains stable, once you are sure it is fitted properly. It works for universal rims but I don't think it will work with wider hoops, you would need the adjustable Meinl Pro clamp for that.
