Meinl SH7-L-BK Fiberglass Shaker

Used for home recording.
Pros:
- Cylindrical shape is simple and easy to control the sound with
- Size fits right in your hand
- Fiberglass shell is strong and completely rigid
- No openings or seams can be found in the shell
- Impossible for the pellets to leave the shell
- Glossy plastic finish looks and feels nice, and seems durable
- Very easy to clean
- Projects sound well
- Sound has good depth and complexity to it
- Shaking slowly has a good mid-range body
- Shaking fast gives clear, sparkling highs
Cons:
- The Meinl logo is just a simple sticker and is not at all resistant to wear and tear. The white of it can be scratched off with your fingernail.
Overall an excellent shaker that is built to last. It is especially impressive how Meinl manufactured it with no seams or openings. The price is fair, considering this shaker may last a lifetime with no maintenance. It would be nice to have a more durable marking to identify the manufacturer.
