I was actually pleasantly surprised by this. Up until now I was strictly using the Zildjian Gen-16 line cymbals, until that product became discontinued. And with replacements being increasingly harder to find - and because I really dislike the L-80 line - this was a short worth taking, and I'm glad I did.
Contrary to the intended purpose of this kind of cymbal, I don't really use it to practice "silently". I mic it up on the mixing desk so I can continue playing the way I grew accustomed to with the Gen 16 line. And with the proper EQ and a bit of post-production, you can definitely get very acceptable results that the common user won't ever notice.
By now, I own three crashes, a splash and this china. In the few months that I've had it, so far, so good!
