I'm using this for a Behringer B205D active monitor that we use as a small PA. The 205D is designer for a mic stand but it felt a bit insecure. This is much more stable and goes a lot higher.
The B205D mounting spigot holds it on a 5/8" mic adaptor leaning back at an angle but I found a microphone table clamp on Amazon which was a short piece of steel channel with a 6mm threaded hole on one flange (for the clamp screw, ideal for the threaded stud on top of the speaker stand cap thingy) and a 3/8" mic adaptor screw on the top. I put it in a vice and bashed the top flange into the right angle to hold the speaker upright, added a 5/8" adaptor and the mounting spigot and it all works well.
So while this is not as light or compact as a mic stand, for most gigs its just right, goes above head height if you need to, and stable enough. If your speaker will fit the 25mm tube, or the 6mm threaded top cap it's fine.
