I bought this tenor to have at least two good wooden tenors to play at musical events. This instrument is a very well made and voiced instrument that plays extremely well. It has a clear voice that is quite captivating. I bought it several months ago and it is broken in now. The woodworking craftsmanship is impeccable and the physical shape is very appealing. The C, C# keys are very well made and seal the holes well. The instrument plays its low C, C#, D, and D# very loudly and in tune. Going up the scale it plays everything with no real hard to start notes or odd issues with any notes. It plays well in tune. The instrument is very loud but doesn't go too flat when playing softly. This wide dynamic range makes playing soft or loud much easier in consort. I find that it is a very stable instrument and is hard to over blow into bad sounds. I love to play both recorder and flute music, usually duets and trios. The flute music uses the upper registers more than recorder music usually does. I can use this tenor to play flute parts that I would normally tackle with an Alto recorder. This tenor pretty much handles baroque era flute music with no problems. It's high notes sound easily and clearly. It plays a fine high C# without closing the end bell with your knee. At times I go to folk music jams and have played this recorder with the musicians. The loudness and high register really make this a fun instrument to play with guitars, mandolins, violins and accordions among other instruments. It complements the human voice very well. It blends very well with recorder consorts and can easily lead a song because of its loudness. This instrument comes with a very protective case and swab. The only thing of negative note is its weight. Moeck provides a strap hole equipped thumb rest and I have used a strap at times due to the weight of the instrument. If you need a strap, order one as you order the instrument as Moeck does not provide one. I have to admit that this is a terrific instrument and I highly recommend it. A very professional level product.
