A wealth of reverbs in one pedal

The Mooer R7 X2 Reverb combines 14 of the best reverb algorithms from the A7 Ambiance and R7 Reverb models in one compact stereo reverb pedal, and offers left and right stereo inputs and outputs as well as support for an optional standard 9V power supply (300mA). The parameter knobs include High Cut, Low Cut, and Mix for adjusting the EQ, while the Decay and Pre-Delay knobs control the intensity of each effect. Customised presets for each effect can be stored via the dedicated Save button and conveniently recalled via the two silent footswitches. The R7 X2 pedal offers a staggeringly comprehensive range of reverb effects that cover both classic and modern sounds, ranging from the usual suspects like Room, Spring, and Church to spaced-out Reverse and Shimmer effects. Users can also generate atmospheric sounds with the "Infinite" function for an endless reverb tail.

14 customisable algorithms

The Mooer R7 X2 is a compact stereo reverb pedal packed with a comprehensive selection of 14 high-quality reverb algorithms that include various room simulations such as Church, Cave, and Studio, as well as artificial spring and plate reverb and more modern ambient effects like Wrap, Shake, and Crush. Such an expansive choice of effects provides a degree of creative flexibility far beyond that of conventional reverb pedals. This is further enhanced by the customisation options for each effect provided by the five on-board controls. In addition to the high and low-frequency filters, the R7 X2 features Mix and Decay knobs as well as a pre-delay control for adjusting the intensity of the effects. Presets can be created for each of the 14 reverb effects by simply hitting the save button. The R7 X2 also enables atmospheric experimentation via its Infinite and Trail On functions to customise how each effect fades out, which can be used in conjunction with the bypass switch.

In rehearsal and on stage

Mooer's X2 series is recommended for both live and studio use. Anyone looking for an inexpensive yet versatile and great-sounding reverb pedal with tons of extras should find what they are looking for here! In addition to guitarists, the stereo inputs and outputs are also perfectly suited to the needs of keyboardists. The R7 X2 eschews complicated menus in favour of a straightforward control setup that enables quick access to a large selection of reverb effects that can be individually customised and conveniently saved. The preset locations are visualised via seven bi-coloured LEDs, with the effects list printed on the side of the housing. In addition to the bypass function, the reverb tail can be "frozen" at any time by engaging the Infinite switch for an endless atmospheric soundscape.

About Mooer

Mooer is based in the Chinese city of Shenzhen and has been making products for guitarists since 2010, which include compact single pedals through to multi-effects units and compact amplifiers. The company initially produced a range of mini pedals before making perhaps its most significant breakthrough in 2016 with the sophisticated Ocean Machine delay pedal, which was designed in collaboration with Devin Townsend. Mooer's product range now also includes solutions that feature amp modelling, IR-based speaker simulation, and matching equalisers, and the company's focus remains firmly on the use of digital technology.

Easily accessible variety

The Mooer R7 X2 Reverb is extremely intuitive, and users can easily customise the parameters of their chosen reverb algorithm using the on-board controls and store presets by simply pressing the Save button. The two footswitches are used to switch the effect on and off or to trigger the Infinite function, which endlessly extends the reverb tail. Simultaneously pressing both footswitches accesses the preset scrolling mode and allows the user to move up and down through the memory slots, which are arranged in two blocks and visualised with LEDs, allowing for effortless selection of personalised presets.

Versatile and super easy to use
Rahuss 20.05.2023
I had high expectations for this pedal and they were met.

The two switches makes changing presets during gigs very easy, while also allowing the freeze/hold function for infinite verbs and walls of sound.

The available modes are good and flexible with the pre-delay, high & low pass filters, and mix knobs allowing for broad adjustments.

The sound is great, but there seems to be a small latency delay when the pedal is turned on and off. Not a massive issue but noticeable if you're switching on and off often.

Regardless, would highly recommend.

T
Switchable infinite reverb, bypass with tails
Tomi-Croatia 08.08.2024
I think the key feature of this effect is the infinite reverb switch which basically holds a sample of the reverb tails and sustains it for however long you want. The second key feature is that the bypass switch doesn't turn off the tails, so you can let the tails gradually fade out. From the 14 reverb types, which are all good, the ones I like the best are Shimmer and Dream. The Shimmer is pretty good, but not as good as some other more expensive shimmer reverbs. The artifacts can be heard in the high frequencies, so if you turn up the high cut, it sounds very nice. If you're doing ambiental stuff I would recommend adding an additional reverb in the chain, and setting them to different decay times. And the best thing of all is that it's a stereo reverb with stereo inputs, but it can also take a mono input and turn it into stereo. Excellent value for the money. Definitely pair it with a good delay, chorus and another reverb.

L
Amazing sound and features
Laserboy 15.02.2024
How do they do it at this price? Standard pedal size, true stereo, 14 beautiful presets which are easy to customise, warm ambience, soaring high spaces, very intuitive controls, very cool modulations, the two foot switches control true or digital bypass, preset switching and the neat infinite sustain. Total value for money.

Schöner Klangteppich, aber ....
C.Ma. 04.08.2024
den Profi besser überzeugen...siehe you tube,
