Neutrik XLR connectors are reliable and seem to last forever.
I've got some over 20 years old, still working perfectly. No crackles, cable grips secure.

The flexible plastic that keeps out liquids can degrade over time which is where these replacement parts come in so I reuse old plugs and have them fully functional on the new set of cables I'm making.

Extra useful to have different colors available to identify cables when setting up.
