I have had several of these from Thomann over the past couple of years and every single one breaks after only a few weeks of use, either the silent sleeve falls out or the unit shorts somewhere internally around the silent sleeve (and nothing to do with my soldering) . . . I'll stick to the regular angle plug in future, they work just fine.

I have bought two of those over the years. First one broke very quick so I got I new one because I like the idea of silent jack. The second one is still working but I found out that there is resistance between the two pins which affects the tone and the level. I found out that by antecedently switching for another cable without the silent system and the difference in tone was so huge I could believe. Thats why I went further to investigate why is that so I measured the cable in every way and I found that is the plugs fault.
